Pitch Diameter Ball Points


Ball contact points used for pitch diameter inspection are sized by thread pitch just as thread wires are sized.  The ball contact seats in the thread groove and touches the thread flank at the pitch line.
These precision carbide ball contacts are used with the PD-6000 and PD-8000 gages for pitch diameter size inspection.
Contact point diameters are manufactured to tolerances of +.0002”. Pitch diameter gages require two contact points.

Contact points have threaded shanks are available in #4-48UNF and M2.5x.45. Special diameter contact points not listed in our catalog are quoted upon request.
