API Rotary Shouldered Gages |
|
Gagemaker has over 25 years of experience with Quality Control and inspection of all threads used by the oilfield. Rotary shouldered connections are no exception. This type of connection takes special attention to detail to inspect and qualify properly. For years the industry has relied on hardened and ground ring and plug gages to qualify an RSC connector. The problem with ring and plug gages is they hide errors and don’t always tell the truth. A ring or plug gage is a “feel good” gage at best. If the gage screws on, the operator feels good that the product is within tolerance. If the gage is wrong, then the operator automatically gets a false sense that the product is good.
Gagemaker’s Joint Strength System (JSS) for Rotary Shouldered Connections eliminates the need for ring and plug gages. This gauging system will inspect any API thread and verify the accuracy to API specification tolerances.
