The latest development in groove inspection gages is displayed in Gagemaker’s BX line of gages. The BX-1000 measures the diameter of any Spec 6A flange groove including RX grooves, while the BXG-1000 inspects the width of the groove. These gages need to be preset to a predetermined dimension using gage blocks, micrometers, or the Gagemaker MIC TRAC prior to part inspection. Deviation from a nominal setting is displayed on the gage’s dial indicator.
